Somatic Experiencing® with Touch

These table-based sessions are rooted in Somatic Experiencing® (SE) and offer gentle touch to help you feel more settled, grounded, and in tune with your body. Unlike massage, SE touch doesn’t aim to manipulate tissue. Instead, it supports subtle shifts in the nervous system—encouraging safety, connection, and resilience.

Clients often seek this work when healing from overwhelming experiences with touch (like accidents, medical trauma, or abuse), or when talk-therapy hasn’t felt like the right fit. You’ll be supported to notice sensations at your own pace, gradually building the capacity to respond to stress in more adaptive and life-affirming ways.

Massage and Mobility

Mobility sessions are ideal for people wanting to feel more fluid, open, and mobile in their body. I integrate therapeutic massage with mobility-based movement and gentle assisted stretching techniques.

Rooted in my training in Clinical Massage Therapy, Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST), Critical Alignment Therapy (CAT) and yoga, these sessions are collaborative and body-led. Whether you're working through chronic tension, old injuries, or just feel stiff and disconnected, this offering supports greater freedom and flow—without pushing past your edges.

Registered Massage Therapy with Sound & Somatic Touch

This is not your average massage. Over two unrushed hours, I weave together massage therapy, somatic awareness, and vibrational sound healing to create a deeply restorative and meditative experience.

Using tools such as Acutonics tuning forks, Cranio-Sacral Therapy style holds, and breath-centred bodywork, this session invites your whole system to settle and soften. You'll be guided inward, supported to feel more resourced and regulated—without needing to talk or explain.

Ideal for those feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, or craving a nervous system “reset.”

Meet Your Practitioner

Breanne Hamper Somatic Health and Wellness

Hi, I’m Breanne. I’m a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) based in Calgary, Alberta. I help people find more ease in their bodies and resilience in their nervous systems—especially after experiences where touch became something complicated, painful, or difficult to trust.

I bring several years of experience as a RMT and hold certifications in trauma-informed bodywork including Somatic Experiencing (SE), Somato-Emotional Release (SER) and i-Rest Yoga Nidra. My approach is slow, grounded, and presence-led. Whether you're here for deep healing or simply a moment of rest, you're welcome.

Who I Love to Work With

At Somatic Health and Wellness, I offer more than just massage. I offer a space to land. To reconnect. To feel.

I love working with people who are ready to slow down and listen to their bodies.

You might be a yogi, someone who senses deeply, or someone who’s just beginning to explore the connection between body and mind. Whether you’ve been on this path for years or are only starting to tune in, you’re open to becoming more self-aware—more attuned to your inner world. And you understand that healing isn’t just something that happens in the mind. It lives in the body too.

You’re not looking for someone to fix you. You’re looking for someone to meet you gently, skillfully, and without urgency.

My favourite sessions are with clients who:

Are open to slowing dow, becoming present, And noticing the subtle language of their bodies

Choose massage and integrative bodywork not as a luxury, but as a way to stay grounded, present, and in relationship

Value emotional attunement and the healing power of safe, empathetic presence

Appreciate a flexible, intuitive approach that we shape together using the following modalities: massage therapy, sound therapy, lymphatic drainage therapy, cranio-sacral therapy, fascial stretch therapy, critical alignment therapy and somatic experiencing

Prefer an ongoing therapeutic relationship, not just a one-time appointment

If you're someone who’s already doing the inner work and are now looking for a practitioner to support your body along the way, we’ll likely be a great fit.

This work goes deepest when there’s space, time, and trust. That’s why I only offer massage in 2-hour durations. My massage practice is intentionally spacious—designed to support deep presence, whole-body integration, and meaningful therapeutic connection. If you’re seeking a unique kind of massage therapy, I’d love to hear from you. I also offer Somatic Experiencing sessions and mobility-focused bodywork in shorter formats to target specific issues.

Testimonials

Deana L

Breanne is a true healer. I really enjoyed and benefited from my somatic experience touch work sessions with her. The body is wise and I found my body responded well to the somatic work that felt subtle but was actually very effective at bringing my body into more ease.

I think everyone could benefit from somatic experience touch work, especially people who have experienced trauma.

I am regular client with Breanne and her sessions help my body to stay pain free and I’m able to continue doing all the activities I love like yoga, biking, skiing and hiking.

Tracy C

The biggest thing I noticed after the session is that my mind feels quiet, and I can finally rest peacefully. I haven’t had that in months. My shoulders and back are still relaxed, and my head feels straight. I feel balanced and at peace with myself. Thank you.

Scott M

Though difficult to translate into words, my experiences working with Breanne have all been very positive and uniquely insightful with the Somatic Experiencing touch work. Breanne provides an intuitive guidance that is both full of curiosity and exploration, yet very grounded and gentle. Each time I am rewarded with a comfortable and healing experience and Breanne provides treatment with obvious patience and authentic care.

FAQs

Answers to Your Key Questions

What is Somatic Experiencing®?

Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to healing trauma and chronic stress. It supports nervous system regulation by helping you notice and process the physical sensations connected to past overwhelm — without needing to relive or retell your story.

What’s the difference between SE touch work and massage?

Massage works with the muscular and fascial systems to release physical tension. SE touch work uses gentle, non-manipulative contact to support your nervous system in finding a greater sense of ease, regulation, and internal balance. It’s not about “fixing” the body — it’s about helping the body feel more resourced and at ease from the inside out.

I’ve experienced trauma. Is this work safe for me?

Yes — sessions are designed to meet you where you are. We work slowly and collaboratively, helping you build trust with your body at your own pace. You are always in charge of how much we do and when to pause. This approach is especially supportive for those healing from trauma involving touch or body-based overwhelm.

What’s your approach to trauma-informed care?

I prioritize consent, choice, collaboration, and pacing in every session. You’ll never be pressured to go deeper than you want to. My role is to support you in listening to your body and working within what feels manageable.

Can I use my massage benefits for these sessions?

Yes. All services are billed under Registered Massage Therapy and are eligible for coverage under most extended health plans in Alberta. Please check with your provider to confirm your specific coverage.

Do I need to talk about my past or share personal details?

Not at all. While you're welcome to share what feels important, SE focuses more on what you’re noticing in your body than on telling the story. Many clients find relief in knowing they don’t have to explain or analyze their experience to find healing.

What should I wear or bring to my session?

For SE and mobility sessions, wear comfortable clothing you can move and relax in. For massage-based sessions, you’ll be draped with a sheet, with only the area being worked on uncovered at any time. All sessions take place in a calm, quiet, and private treatment space.

How often should I come in?

That depends on your goals. Some people come weekly or bi-weekly while working through a specific concern. Others come every 6 weeks for ongoing regulation and support. We’ll collaborate on what feels most sustainable and helpful for you.

I’m not sure which service is right for me. How do I choose?

No problem — you’re welcome to contact me with any questions. Here’s a quick guide:

- If you’re working through stress or trauma and want nervous system support → Somatic Experiencing® with Touch

- If you’re feeling stiff, stuck, or want more physical mobility → Massage & Mobility

- If you’re craving deep rest, sensory calm, or a full-body reset → Massage with Sound & Somatics
